B.  Get Your Utah Tax ID Number and Or Other State Required Documentation

Have your Federal Tax ID Number (EIN) handy; most states require it on their state tax ID number forms and other forms that you may need to complete after you incorporate a business in Utah.

1. State Taxes

Once you have your Federal ID Number you should proceed to Utah’s One-Stop Business Registration site at https://secure.utah.gov/osbr/user to complete all necessary state tax and related forms.

2. Annual Reporting/Renewal Requirement

All corporations are required to file an annual renewal with the State each year which you can do online at https://secure.utah.gov/abr/abr . The first annual report is due during the month of your entity’s anniversary date of formation.

The Department of Commerce will mail you the annual reporting forms prior to the due date. The current fee is $12. Failure to file the annual renewal may result in the loss of all protections and privileges in the State of Utah.

If you have any questions, contact the Department of Commerce at 801-530-4849 or toll-free at 877-526-3994. You can also visit their website at www.commerce.utah.gov .
