B.  Get Your State Tax ID Number and Or Other State Required Documentation

1.     Colorado Business Registration, Form CR 100

Have your Federal Tax ID Number (EIN) handy; most states require it on their state tax ID number forms and other forms

Once you've received your Federal Tax ID Number, you must file Form CR 100, which will determine your entity's state tax obligation. You can download the form at http://www.revenue.state.co.us/PDF/cr0100.pdf

You can also file this form electronically at https://secure.cdle.state.co.us/CR100/

If you have any questions about the form, call the Colorado Department of Revenue at 303-238-SERV or log on to www.revenue.state.co.us

2.       Annual Reports

All corporations and LLCs are required to file an annual report years with the Secretary of State. The Secretary of State will mail this form to you prior to the due date. Go to http://www.sos.state.co.us/pubs/business/main.htm and choose file an annual report.

As of October 1, 2005, a notice that an Annual Report is due is mailed to the registered agent for each reporting entity when their Annual Report is due. This will no longer be a form to be completed and returned by mail; instead it will be a postcard notice stating that an Annual Report is due and directing the filer to our Web site to either file online or print a form for mailing. If an entity does not file an Annual Report in a timely manner, the entity’s status will be changed from Good to Non-compliant and a second postcard will be sent notifying the entity that they have 60 days to file an Annual Report or the status will be changed to Delinquent.
For more information on Annual Reports visit http://www.sos.state.co.us/pubs/business/faq_business.htm#REPORT
